A concept build for a fictional heritage leadwork firm in York, working on listed buildings.

The design problem

The design problem was the interesting part. Nobody ever sees a lead roof, so there are no photographs worth leading with. The site is built instead around a measured elevation drawing rendered as SVG, with a dated archive timeline running beneath it.

How it reads

Restrained, editorial and typographically led rather than image led. Proof that a site can carry real weight with no photo library behind it.
